WOW
We were “Wowed” from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Everything was well thought out, and catered exactly to our needs. All our guests kept gushing about how much fun it was – the kids, the adults, everyone didn’t even leave the property for the entire weekend as it was all there on site. We bought our own food that we cooked/ prepared on site in the huge kitchens, and had an incredible time celebrating my 40th – thank you!
Fantastic Property
We had a wonderful 3 days at the property. All our guest were very happy and excited with the house and grounds. It was great to be able to seat everyone around the tables both inside and out. We had a great time in the pool and spa. Our group ranged from 80 (the birthday) girl to 4 months, the youngest great grandchild, and the was something to do for everyone. We had never been to the Hunter Valley before and this was a great place to base ourselves form the weekend. Would certainly visit again.
A huge success
Our group stayed on your beautiful property for a 40th nursing reunion . We had lots of room and we’re all really comfortable. All of our group loved the property and many commented they would have like to stay for a week. The girls commented on how great the showers were. The wine fridge in the dining room was fantastic. The kitchen made meal preparations a breeze. Your staff were prompt and very helpful re any queries and we really appreciated the early access to drop off food supplies given the unexpected hot weather. Mind blowing property!
Every single guest that stepped through the front door said the same thing, “WOW!” Staying at Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat was honestly pinch worthy. From the expansive lounge with comfortable leather couches and gas fireplace, to the enormous cooks kitchen with adjoining dining room that seated our 25 guests comfortably, our weekend away was truly mind blowing. Making the booking was an absolute breeze. Every email was replied to in record time and every question was answered with the same upbeat personality and professionalism. We will be back, this time for at least 4 nights so we can truly utilise everything this property has to offer.
Breathtakingly Beautiful
This property is INCREDIBLE. Breathtakingly beautiful in both its scale and detail. You really couldn’t hope for a better place to stay with a large group when visiting the Hunter Valley, especially given its prime location. The mainstay (and even the other places on the property) were filled with everything to help you feel at home, along with luxuries that you may not even be used to. The design and attention to detail is masterful, while the hospitality on welcome (free wine!) sets the tone for a memorable stay. Five stars.
Fantastic and unique venue
We stayed at Hunter Valley Lodge as a business team to take time out to plan strategy and gel as a team – it was really fantastic – the most beautiful location, with everything you could need in the most comfortable environment. There was plenty of room for us to break out into groups and have some personal space as well as time together as a team. The beds were super comfortable and everyone slept so well – truly the Good Life!
A magical property for our magical weekend
My brand new husband and I could not find any other property across NSW that was such a perfect fit to have our families stay with us for a long weekend away, to join us in saying “I do”. The team at the Lodge and Hunter Concierge were so accommodating and helped us have the most memorable wedding day and weekend of our dreams! We were all blown away by the entire property, the rooms, the space, the variety of activities and all the detail and features that just made the place an absolute stand-out. The brand new decking was gorgeous, perfect for a sunset meal. Highly recommended!
Amazing wine country experience inside and outside
Over 25 people, who were soon to become one family, via a wedding, spent 3 days together in the most wonderful accommodation. We looked at spectacular sunsets and fog covered mountain views, laid back in quiet areas, gathered noisily in the huge games room / den, dined in style at the “long table” in the dining room and chatted around the fireplace under the cathedral ceilings, after too many lovely wines.
Worth Every Penny
Hosted my husbands 40th birthday weekend here for 30 guests with a caterer and the house excelled in every way! Fully stocked with all you need, everything spotless and clean. The property is managed incredibly well and there are a lot of rules however everything went smooth without a hitch. All our guests were very impressed with the property and worth every penny!
So Unique
This has to be one of the most amazing and unique properties available to the public! Equipped with absolutely everything you would need when with a group and more. Highly recommend this property and worth every cent!
Absolute luxury
Absolute luxury, every detail has been thought of and all of our 22 guests said the beds were the most comfortable beds they had ever slept in. A great place for all seasons and a perfect location. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to bring a group of people together, one of the best getaways to date. Thank you
True Labour of Love
The location, amenities, service & property were unbelievable. A true labour of love has gone into that place to give its guests the vibe of instant rest & relaxation they feel upon entering its hallowed grounds.
Incredible place
Incredible place, perfect for large groups. The house and the retreat are outstanding. The facilities, pool, hot tub, bison den (games area) were so much fun. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer.
Bonn Abbey
Beautiful Bonn Abbey
Eight friends recently spent three nights at the beautiful Bonn Abbey.What a relaxing and enjoyable holiday! We enjoyed the comfort and elegance of the home – the fittings and decor had been chosen with such care to make it a home away from home. We loved our breakfasts out on the sunny verandah with views across the field to the mountains, evenings in front of the open fire and the joy of being away from it all but with good internet wifi when needed. Communication with Katie at Hunter Valley Holiday Homes was excellent and she answered any queries immediately and with good humour from our booking time until our departure. Thank you Bonn Abbey!.
Beautifully Presented Property
Bonn Abbey is a beautifully presented property. From the minute we arrived we relaxed into the comfort of this home away from home. It is obvious a lot of thought has gone into providing guests with everything they could possibly need for either a short or long stay from an amazingly well equipped kitchen and laundry , dining indoors or outdoors with plenty of space to lounge around to a great assortment of games and books. I’d highly recommend a visit to this fabulous house in the scenic and peaceful town of Broke. Liz
I would like to thank you. From the moment we walked in the door and unpacked our Christmas goodies we felt right at home. Our stay was made even more enjoyable because the home accommodated all our needs. We had all our family meals at the large dining table and not once were we short of utensils cutlery or crockery The living areas and bedrooms we’re a wonderful surprise and very comfortable and cosy. I will definately be recommending Bonn Abbey to others and am already thinking of the next big family event we need to celebrate so we can get away.
FABULOUS
We had a fabulous time at Bonn Abbey, it was the perfect winter getaway for our girls weekend away. We’ve been doing this for 10 years now and would have to say that Bonn Abbey had the most well equipped kitchen we’ve come across, it had everything we could possibly need! The beds were very comfortable and the spa in the main bathroom was a hit! The house was cosy with the fireplace and air conditioning.We will definitely recommend Bonn Abbey to family and friends!
RELAXING TRANQUILITY
Thank you for such a wonderful and pleasant stay at Bonn Abbey. You catered for almost all of our needs and the tranquility, peace and remoteness of the house was just what we needed to escape the realities and demands of city life. Our trip could not come at a better time and it gave us a chance to find some peace and de-stress from studying and work. Bonn Abbey is a wonderful home set in a beautiful town. It was great to wake up to fresh air, green scenery and open skies. You provided us with so many activities to keep us busy in the house that it was hard to leave. The open fireplace was awesome and the kitchen was definitely well equipped ranging from saucepans down to the smaller details such as a pizza cutter. We had a ball making apple pie and sticky date pudding whilst having an X-men marathon. Had it not been so cold, I’m sure we would have taken advantage of the garden and outdoor setting. However, we were content to laze around the fireplace on the very comfy sofas. In hindsight, our stay was too short and if given the opportunity, we would love to stay with you again in the future.
RELAXING TRANQUILITY
We had a wonderful stay at Bonn Abbey. The house was gorgeous and did not disappoint. The generous living/dining space with the lovely log fire was a wonderful place to spend time with a drop of local wine and cheese. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the setting was superb.
Elderslie House
Perfect for our extended family getaway
Elderslie House was well maintained and the fact that every bedroom has it’s own ensuite made it perfect for our extended family getaway. It would also be great for a large group of friends. The living areas were spacious and the kitchen had everything you need including a Nespresso machine. The games room was well used during our stay. We enjoyed the semi rural setting and have already recommended it to our friends. We would definitely stay there again!
Perfect for Large Group
16 (8 adults & 8 kids) of us stayed at Elderslie house & it was perfect for a large group,the older kids enjoyed having there own get away in the studio as well as the games room & there was a lot of places for you to get away & have a quiet read or time to yourself.
Everything you would want
Elderslie House had everything you would want for a weekend away, the place was clean and had plenty of room for 10 guests. Would 100% stay at this property again.

This stay was the best stay we have had to date at an air B and B! Katie our host was fantastic and she made sure we had one of the best stays. The house itself is so much bigger than we thought. We all had such a great time, next year we will definitely see if this house is available to stay! Thank you again!

The most beautiful getaway!
The most beautiful getaway! I would come back and stay here again and again. So well taken care of and completely clean! The rooms were all beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen was perfectly stocked and we didn’t feel the need to buy everything, it was so well set up. The bathrooms were gorgeous as well and had such nice products. Great location and the team who contacted us were so accommodating. The welcome basket was such a nice touch. If you’re in this area, it’s the perfect place to stay.
